MA in International Relations from the Maxwell School of Syracuse University

Are you interested in a professional masters degree that will prepare you for leadership positions in public and international affairs?  The International Relations Program at Syracuse University's Maxwell School may be the right choice for you!

The Master of Arts in International Relations (MA-IR) is a professional degree program that combines rigorous, multidisciplinary academic coursework with real-world skills to give its graduates an edge in the global job market.

The MA-IR offers a 40-credit curriculum requiring the completion of two Career Tracks, region-specific coursework, second language proficiency, and a professional capstone experience.  With full-time commitment, the MA can be completed in 16 months.

The MA-IR Program features several off-campus components, including the Summer Practicum in Washington, D.C.; the Summer Internship Program in International Organizations in Geneva, Switzerland; and fall semester internship and study programs in Europe, South America, Japan, and Washington. It is a member of the Association of Professional Schools of International Affairs.

MPA in Public Administration

Maxwell’s MPA program is a full year 40-credit professional graduate degree designed to prepare students for the challenges of leadership and management in the public sector.   Created nearly 80 years ago, it is the nation’s first professional program in public affairs and has consistently been ranked among the very best schools for public and international affairs in the country.

Maxwell is the only major school where the professional graduate program in public administration is integrated within the larger school of social sciences (anthropology, economics, geography, history, political science and sociology).  This strong tradition of interdisciplinary research and study provides a rich context for the professional study of public policy analysis and management.
