I grew up in a small town in New Hampshire and received my undergraduate degree in English from Boston College in 2008. I then moved to Japan, where I taught English in Gifu City for two years. I returned to the United States and earned a Masters in International Affairs from George Washington University in Washington, DC. After graduation, I worked as a contractor with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for two years before returning to Japan to begin a PhD program at Waseda University. In my free time, I love to watch films and listen to music. Music was my minor course of study in college, and I still play guitar and piano occasionally as a hobby. Here at AGOS, I always try to anticipate the needs of students and keep my lessons interesting as well as educational. Nothing gives me more satisfaction as a teacher than seeing students achieve their goals after a lot of hard work.

Gwen Catley Gwen Catley / Sogo Eigo/TOEFL(R)TEST/SAT(R)
I grew up in Virginia and earned my undergraduate degree in Latin American Studies and Foreign Affairs at the University of Virginia. After gaining some work experience in sales management and marketing, I went on to Boston University, where I completed my MBA with a dual concentration in Strategy and International Management. I have worked in management and IT consulting as well as software. Since 2010, I have helped aspiring undergraduate and graduate students from dozens of countries identify - and get accepted to - the right schools for them. I have extensive experience with TOEFL, SAT, GRE, and GMAT, as well as the US admissions process. The best part of my job is hearing from my former students after they have gone off to school, because they are always so happy and energized. I know the tests are challenging and the process is stressful, but all of your hard work will pay off! On the personal side, I love reading, cooking, learning foreign languages, and traveling.

I'm originally from Syracuse, New York. I got my undergraduate degree in music from Yale University and was the principal percussionist of the Yale Symphony Orchestra. I also studied Japanese language for four years, receiving a fellowship to study in Hokkaido during the summer of 2005. At AGOS, helping my students follow their aspirations and dreams has been very inspiring for me. I love being around the energy of my SAT(R) students and I'm always fascinated by the inquisitiveness and curiosity of my TOEFL(R)TEST students. I feel very satisfied being able to assist AGOS clients in this significant step on their path to studying overseas.

Sandy Bhatia Sandy Bhatia / TOEFL(R)TEST/SAT(R)
I studied Applied Mathematics and Psychology at the University of Waterloo, before leaving Canada to begin my career teaching Math, Physics, TOEFL(R)TEST, SAT(R), and GMAT(R). My pursuits have led me to teach in Shanghai where I also studied design, and Tokyo where I had the opportunity to study photography, all while traveling around Asia with camera in hand. After nine years, I returned to my Canadian roots in 2011, and studied interface design and Japanese at The University of Toronto. But within one year I realized Tokyo is my home, and I'm happy to be back, working with students as passionate about learning as I am.
