Professor Dominique V. Turpin is President (European) and Professor of Marketing at CEIBS. He joined CEIBS in September 2022. Professor Turpin is a marketing expert and was IMD’s Dentsu Chaired Professor of Marketing and Dean of External Relations until 2022, serving as IMD President, Dean and Nestlé Professor from 2010 to 2016. Before joining IMD in 1986, he spent several years in Tokyo as a representative of a French firm in Japan. He earned a doctorate in economics from Sophia University in Tokyo, after receiving a master’s degree in marketing from French business school ESSCA.

For his outstanding accomplishments in executive education, Professor Turpin has been awarded life-long membership of the International Academy of Management. He is a board member of EFMD and is also on the International Advisory Board of multiple prestigious institutions such as the Stockholm School of Economics (SSE), Waseda Business School (Japan), and others. He has been a member of the CEIBS Academic Council since its inception.

Professor Turpin taught on IMD’s flagship Orchestrating Winning Performance (OWP) programme and was previously Director of both the school’s MBA programme and its Programme for Executive Development Diploma (PED). He has also directed customised programmes for companies such as KAO, Mondelez, Groupe SEB, Panasonic and Japan Tobacco International, and has worked as a consultant and management educator with many international companies including Coca Cola, CPW, Danone, DSM, Jardine Matheson, Nestlé, Novo Nordisk, Philips, and Uponor.

The author of more than 100 articles and case studies, Professor Turpin has had pieces published in the Financial Times, European Business Forum, and MIT Sloan Management Review, and has been a regular contributor to Nihon Sangyo Shimbun, one of the leading business dailies in Japan. He is also an editorial advisor for the Singapore Management Review.

Prof. Zhang Lingling

Assistant Professor of Marketing, CEIBS

Professor Zhang Lingling is an Assistant Professor of Marketing at CEIBS. Prior to joining CEIBS, she was an Assistant Professor of Marketing at the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland. Professor Zhang holds a DBA in Marketing from Harvard Business School, an MA in Applied Statistics from University of Michigan, and an MS and BA in Information Science from Nanjing University.

Dr. Zhang’s research interests focus on platform competition, digital marketing, and AI-powered consumer insights. As an empirical modeller, Dr. Zhang uses large-scale field data to understand market competition and consumer behaviour. Her research utilises various modelling methods, including econometrics, machine learning, causal inference, and industrial organisation. Her papers focused on price bargaining on platforms and resource allocation across multiple channels have been published in Marketing Science. Her recent projects combine machine learning and causal inference to examine consumer behaviour and analyse implications for firms and policy makers.

Dr. Zhang teaches courses on marketing analytics, marketing research methods, the fundamentals of digital marketing, and business data analysis. At the Robert H. Smith School of Business, she was the recipient of the Distinguished Teaching Award every year from 2016 to 2020 and received the Allen J. Krowe Award for Teaching Excellence from 2019 to 2020. She serves as an ad hoc reviewer at various top-tier journals, including Marketing Science, Management Science, Journal of Marketing Research, and Journal of Marketing. She also serves as the advisor for Quanta Big-Data Marketing Research in India.
