“The Current State of Impact Investing in Japan and Comparison with the UK”
The market for impact investing and social impact bonds in Japan is expanding, with assets under management (AUM) for impact investments by financial institutions exceeding 11 trillion yen in 2023. This presentation will provide an overview of policies, intermediaries, and financial institution initiatives aimed at expanding the impact investing market.

“Aiming for Evidence-Based Decision Making in Infectious Disease Control”
The COVID-19 and Mpox pandemics have highlighted the growing importance of accurately interpreting reliable data and applying it to policy decisions. As an example, this presentation will introduce household infection control measures for influenza-like illnesses, exploring how approaches such as epidemiological analysis and mathematical modelling can contribute to optimizing infectious disease control strategies.
