Essay 2: Personal Expression (a.k.a. “Pick Six”)
Describe yourself to the Admissions Committee and to your future classmates using six images and corresponding captions. Your uploaded PDF should contain all of the following elements:
A brief introduction or overview of your “Pick Six” (no more than 3 sentences).
Six images that help illustrate who you are.
A one-sentence caption for each of the six images that helps explain why they were selected and are significant to you.

LLM合格にむけて　TOEFLそれともIELTS? 合格に必要なスコアの考え方

4月に入り、2022年入学を目指すアプリカントからの相談も増えております。この時期最も多い相談内容は、”出願書類を提出するまでのプロセス”です。本日から数回に渡り、この点をお話したいと思います。

TOEFLそれともIELTS?

アメリカのLLMプログラムではIELTSの点数を審査に採用しないケースもあり、出願に際しては多くのアプリカントがTOEFLを選択します。両方のスコアを採用する場合にも、各校で各テストの要求スコアについて記載されていることもあります。

★ New York Universityの例
IELTS ：総合スコア7.0 (Minimum)
Listening 7.5
Reading 7.5
Speaking 7.0
Writing 7.0

TOEFL：総合スコア 100 (Minimum)
Listening 26
Reading 26
Speaking 22
Writing 22

★ Georgetown Universityの例：
IELTSよりTOELFの方が好ましい（TOEFL is preferred）と記されているものの、IELTSスコアを提出することも可能です。しかし、総合スコアで7.5 (TOEFL 105点相当)、各セクションでは7.0が要求されています。

各セクション25以上

IELTS ：総合スコア7.5 (Minimum)

テストスコアに対する両プログラムの考え方の「違い」が見えてきますね。
出願者は、IELTSとTOEFLの内容の違い、各校への志望度合い、各テストへの適正（例：IELTSのスピーキングでは面接官を相手にし、TOEFLスピーキングは機材にレコーディング）といった項目を比較し、受験するテストを選択することになります。

LLM出願準備とテストの選択

入学審査においては、テストスコアと同様に、あるいはそれ以上に出願書類（レジュメ・パーソナルステートメント・推薦状・成績等）が審査の比準の多くを占めます。他のアプリカントと区別化を図る書類を作り上げるためにも、上述のように自分に最適なテストを選択し、効率よく準備を進めていきましょう。
