Columbia MBA Admission Deadlines & Essays for 2022-2023

Columbia MBA（CBS）が応募要項を発表しました。M7プログラムの中でCBSのみがrolling admission（早く出願した方から随時審査を行う制度）を採用しております。また、CBSはJanuaryとAugustと年に２回のプログラム開始時期があり、それぞれのプログラムに特徴があります。応募者は自分に最適なプログラムを選ぶことができます。そしてAugust intakeのみEarly Decision(Early)と呼ばれるCBS第一志望者むけの出願締切が設定されています。

CBS出願にむけては、エッセイをはじめとした応募書類の準備に加えて、上述の点を考慮した出願プランを検討することが必要です。

Essays

Applicants must complete one short answer question and three essays.

Short Answer Question: What is your immediate post-MBA professional goal? (50 characters maximum)

Examples of possible responses:

    • “Work in business development for a media company.”
    • “Join a strategy consulting firm.”
    • “Launch a data-management start-up.”

Essay 1

Through your resume and recommendation, we have a clear sense of your professional path to date. What are your career goals over the next three to five years and what is your long-term dream job? (500 words)

LL.M.出願 合格までのロードマップ

前回のブログでは、Harvard Law Schoolの2023年入学向け出願締め切り日やパーソナルステートメントに関する情報を共有しました。その後、UCLAも出願締め切り日を発表しました（2023年2月1日）。その他の主なトップLL.M.プログラムは8月から9月上旬に出願情報を公開し、出願締め切り日は、12月上旬から1月中旬にかけて集中します。本日はこの先出願までの準備項目を整理します。

■　6月：
レジュメの作成方法を把握し、作成に必要な情報を整理する（過去の棚卸し作業）
LSACの使い方（有料サービス内容含）を把握するため、入力用アカウントを取得する
出願に必要な書類の役割を把握、大学、法科大学院、大学院の成績表を取り寄せ、評定平均値 (G.P.A.)を算出する
法科大学院未修者で法曹資格を持っていない方々は、出願資格の有無を各ロースクールへ問い合わせを行う

■　7月：
LSACの出願関連有料サービスを申し込み、その後に大学、法科大学院、司法研修所などの英文成績表をLSACへ送付する（高等教育の経歴内容により、送付する書類が異なるためご注意ください）
レジュメの作成に着手し、月末には完成させる

■ 8月：
パーソナルステートメントと推薦状の作成方法を把握する。各書類で使用する情報を仕分ける
推薦者との話し合いを開始する
出願校の絞り込み作業を開始する

■9月：
出願校用アプリケーションフォーム（願書）の入力を開始する
パーソナルステートメントを書き始める

■10月：
パーソナルステートメント（1校目）を完成させる
推薦状を完成させる

■11月：
パーソナルステートメント（2校目以降）を完成させる
出願書類を一式提出

■ 12月
出願書類を一式提出

【注意】
各校のアドミッションシステムは異なるため、詳細は各学校の情報の確認が必要です。さらに、個々の準備状況によりタイムラインは異なってきます。テスト対策の状況や業務スケジュールとの兼ね合いを踏まえ、自分にとっての最適な出願スケジュールを策定しましょう。

Harvard MBA Duolingo testの受け入れを開始

先日Harvard MBAの出願締め切りとエッセイ課題の発表をお伝えしましたが、英語テストの要件に変化がありました。Duolingo testの受け入れを開始します。

テストスコアメイキングについては、これまでのGMAT or GREどちらのテストが自分に最適であるか？という議論に加えて、英語のテストについても同様に自分の状況に合わせて適切なテストを選択することが重要です。自分の状況に合わせたテストスコアを選択することも重要な出願戦略です。

A TOEFL, IELTS, Pearson Test of English (PTE), or Duolingo English Test is required if you did not attend an undergraduate institution where the sole language of instruction is English.
If you completed a graduate degree which was taught in English, it is recommended you submit one of these tests, but it is not required.
Scores from ALL of these tests are valid for two years. These tests must be dated January 1, 2021 or more recently to be valid.
HBS only accepts the Internet-based (IBT) version of the TOEFL.
HBS does not have a minimum test score to apply, however, the MBA Admissions Board discourages any candidate with a TOEFL score lower than 109 on the IBT, an IELTS score lower than 7.5, or a PTE score lower than 75, or a Duolingo score lower than 130 from applying.

Harvard MBA Essay and Application dates for the Class of 2025 発表

いよいよ2023年入学者向けのアプリケーションのシーズンが始まりました！
その最初として、Harvard MBA　2023年入学者向けの応募締切とエッセイ課題が発表されました（2025年卒業予定者むけ）
エッセイ課題は昨年と変更はありませんでした。

2023年MBA入学を目指す方、特に９月の1stラウンドでの出願を目指す方は本格出願書類作成の準備開始です。志望理由の整理、自身のこれまでのキャリアの整理を開始しましょう。

The Class of 2025 application will open in June 2022. Applications received after September 7, 2022 will be considered in Round 2. Applications received after January 4, 2023 will not be considered.

Harvard Law School : 2023年入学向けLLM出願締め切り日発表！

早くもHarvard Law School (HLS)は2023年秋入学向けLLMプログラムの出願締め切り日 (12月1日 東部時間 午後11:59分)を発表しました。出願手続きなどの詳細は、以下サイトでご確認ください。

当校の過去のHLS合格者の状況を分析すると、総合、セクション別のTOEFLスコアのバランスがとれていること、さらには学業成績も含めて申し分ないものでした。さらにTOEFLスコアと成績だけが合格を保証するものではありませんので、世界中のアプリカントとの差別化を図るためには、レジュメ、パーソナルステートメント、願書、推薦状のコンテンツ強化も必要です。

これらの準備を着実に進めるためには、実現可能な正しい準備プランの策定が欠かせません。この時期、TOEFLテスト対策に注力する方が多いかと思いますが、出願作業は長丁場です。先々の準備項目を見据えた上で、①今やるべきこと、②今後取り組むべきことの優先順位、③各作業の必要時間数の確保をしましょう。出願準備計画の策定にご質問がある方は、ぜひお声がけください。皆さんとお話できることを楽しみにしております。
