Required Essay #3 – Video
The Berkeley MBA program develops leaders who embody our four Defining Leadership Principles. Briefly introduce yourself to the admissions committee, explain which leadership principle resonates most with you, and tell us how you have exemplified the principle in your personal or professional life. (Not to exceed 2 minutes.)

Required Essay #4 – Short Answer
Can you please describe any experience or exposure you have in the area of diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, and belonging whether through community organizations, personal, or in the workplace? (150 words max)

Optional Essays
The admissions team takes a holistic approach to application review and seeks to understand all aspects of a candidate’s character, qualifications, and experiences. We will consider achievements in the context of the opportunities available to a candidate. Some applicants may have faced hardships or unusual life circumstances, and we will consider the maturity, perseverance, and thoughtfulness with which they have responded to and/or overcome them.

We invite you to help us better understand the context of your opportunities and achievements.

Optional Information #2
This section should only be used to convey relevant information not addressed elsewhere in your application. This may include explanation of employment gaps, academic aberrations, supplemental coursework, etc. You are encouraged to use bullet points where appropriate.

The Phillips Pathway for Inclusive Leadership (PPIL) is a co-curricular program designed to ensure that every CBS student develops the skills to become an ethical and inclusive leader. Through PPIL, students attend programming focused on five essential diversity, equity, and inclusion skills: Creating an Inclusive Environment, Mitigating Bias and Prejudice, Managing Intercultural Dialogue, Addressing Systemic Inequity, and Understanding Identity and Perspective Taking.

Both essays combined may not exceed 1,050 words. We recommend up to 650 words for Essay A and up to 400 words for Essay B. We often read effective essays that are written in fewer words.

We will not accept the new GMAT Focus exam as it will not be available until after this year’s Round 1 deadline. As a reminder, test scores are valid for five years from the test date, so rest assured that your scores from the traditional GMAT exam will continue to be accepted into the future.
• For those applying to 2+2 in 2024, we plan to accept the GMAT Focus and will provide further updates when available. The 2+2 application deadline is Thursday, April 25, 2024.

中国への留学を検討されている方への朗報です！

在日中国大使館は8/23、日本人留学生のビザ申請の受け付けを再開すると発表した。中国政府は新型コロナウイルスの流行を受けて、約2年5カ月にわたって日本人留学生のビザの申請を受け付けておらず、渡航できない留学生がいる状態が続いていた。

Columbia MBA Admission Deadlines & Essays for 2022-2023

Columbia MBA（CBS）が応募要項を発表しました。M7プログラムの中でCBSのみがrolling admission（早く出願した方から随時審査を行う制度）を採用しております。また、CBSはJanuaryとAugustと年に２回のプログラム開始時期があり、それぞれのプログラムに特徴があります。応募者は自分に最適なプログラムを選ぶことができます。そしてAugust intakeのみEarly Decision(Early)と呼ばれるCBS第一志望者むけの出願締切が設定されています。

CBS出願にむけては、エッセイをはじめとした応募書類の準備に加えて、上述の点を考慮した出願プランを検討することが必要です。

Harvard MBA Duolingo testの受け入れを開始

先日Harvard MBAの出願締め切りとエッセイ課題の発表をお伝えしましたが、英語テストの要件に変化がありました。Duolingo testの受け入れを開始します。

テストスコアメイキングについては、これまでのGMAT or GREどちらのテストが自分に最適であるか？という議論に加えて、英語のテストについても同様に自分の状況に合わせて適切なテストを選択することが重要です。自分の状況に合わせたテストスコアを選択することも重要な出願戦略です。

A TOEFL, IELTS, Pearson Test of English (PTE), or Duolingo English Test is required if you did not attend an undergraduate institution where the sole language of instruction is English.
If you completed a graduate degree which was taught in English, it is recommended you submit one of these tests, but it is not required.
Scores from ALL of these tests are valid for two years. These tests must be dated January 1, 2021 or more recently to be valid.
HBS only accepts the Internet-based (IBT) version of the TOEFL.
HBS does not have a minimum test score to apply, however, the MBA Admissions Board discourages any candidate with a TOEFL score lower than 109 on the IBT, an IELTS score lower than 7.5, or a PTE score lower than 75, or a Duolingo score lower than 130 from applying.

エッセイ課題は昨年と変更はありませんでした。

2023年MBA入学を目指す方、特に９月の1stラウンドでの出願を目指す方は本格出願書類作成の準備開始です。志望理由の整理、自身のこれまでのキャリアの整理を開始しましょう。
