GMAC Announces New Version of GMAT

The Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC) has announced the release of a new version of the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) later this year. The new version, which is called GMAT Focus, aims to be more efficient and streamlined than the current version, with some notable changes.

According to GMAC, GMAT Focus will be approximately an hour shorter than the current version, consisting of three 45-minute sections. While the sections will cover the same material as the current GMAT, they will be more streamlined, and test-takers can complete them in any order they prefer. Moreover, the Analytical Writing Assessment essay section, which was previously required, has been removed from GMAT Focus.

GMAT Focus is scheduled to be released later this year, while the current version of the GMAT will still be available until early 2024. GMAC promises to release more information about GMAT Focus in the future, and we will keep you informed as more information becomes available.

Overall, the introduction of GMAT Focus will provide test-takers with an opportunity to complete the test in a shorter amount of time, and potentially, with more flexibility. GMAC will also allow students to decide to send their scores after they receive them, rather than requiring them to decide before. We look forward to learning more about GMAT Focus in the coming months.
